>> Kathie Kushto-Reese: Hello. Today we will learn to don sterile gloves. First, we will wipe, which means wash our hands, introduce ourselves and identify the patient, and explain the procedure. Next, open the package of gloves as per the directions. Be sure to unfold the package and have it flat on the table. Grasp the cuff of one glove with the thumb and first fingers of the opposite hand being careful to touch only the inside of the glove. Insert the other hand into the glove. Pull it in place with the hand that is grasping the cuff. Pick up the second glove by inserting gloved fingers of the first hand under the cuff. Pull on the second glove. Avoid touching the bare palm or wrist of the second hand with the gloved thumb of the first hand. Unfold the cuffs of both gloves by touching only the sterile sides outside of the gloves being careful not to contaminate them.
